O'BRIEN, Dolores M.
(October 2, 1921 - November 19, 2009)
Dolores M. O’Brien (nee, Kramschuster), age 88, of Rice Lake, WI. Born to Eternal Life on November 19, 2009 in Milwaukee, WI.

Born to George and Eloia (O’Rourke) Kramschuster October 2, 1921 and raised in Bloomer, WI where she attended St. Paul Elementary and Bloomer High School. She also attended the University of Wisconsin - River Falls and earned her Masters in English Literature at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Dolores taught in Frederick, WI and Chippewa Falls, WI prior to her marriage to John “Blackie” O’Brien on June 24, 1946 in Bloomer. She was a longtime teacher in Ladysmith and Rice Lake, WI where she taught at the High School and Indianhead Technical College. Dolores wrote and published a book entitled “Bits and Pieces of Small Town Wisconsin”. She was a member of the English Teachers in Wisconsin, Retired Teachers Association, Phi Kappa teacher fraternity and Democratic Party of Barron County.

Dolores O’Brien loving mother to 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy & Kenneth Nehring of Chippewa Falls, WI, Dorothy O’Brien & Richard Antoine of Cincinnati, OH, Maureen O’Brien & Ron Clish of Cedarburg, WI and Patricia O’Brien & Dennis Driscoll of Milwaukee, WI; a son and daughter-in-law, Peter & Joanne O’Brien of Apple Valley, MN; 4 grandchildren, Patrick (Angela) Nehring, Michael (Jessica Hofschulte) Nehring, Shannon O’Brien Antoine and Nick O’Brien; 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Payton and John Nehring; sisters, Ruthanne Kramschuster and Dorothy (Bill) Thompson; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Blackie” O’Brien in 2006.

A Memorial Mass will be held 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 25, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, WI, Fr. James Powers officiating, with inurnment in St. Paul’s Cemetery at Bloomer, WI. Friends may call from 10 AM - 12 noon Wednesday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI.
