RATCLIFFE, Sebastian "Seb" C.
(February 17, 1924 - December 24, 2009)
Sebastian “Seb” Ratcliffe, age 85, of Rice Lake, WI died Thursday, December 24, 2009 at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake.

Born February 17, 1924 in Madison, WI to Sebastian and Gladys (Wheaton) Ratcliffe. Seb graduated from the Madison East High School in Madison. He then entered the United States Navy in December 1942 and was Honorably Discharged in February 1946. He then attended Technical College in Madison for his CPA. Seb started as a US Postal Service Worker in Management and retired in 1979. He then moved to Springbrook, WI in 1979 and then to Rice Lake in 1989. Seb was married to Nellma Elizabeth Metz Weaver on March 23, 1993 in Rice Lake. Seb loved to do wood carvings of songbirds and water fowl.

Seb Ratcliffe is survived by his wife, Nellma Elizabeth Ratcliffe of Rice Lake, WI; a son, Stephen Ratcliffe of Moriarity, NM; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Lynette & David Warner of Waupon, WI, Sharon & Jim Tonkinson of Moriarity, NM and Janice & Steve Stadler of Bloomington, MN; 3 stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Rick Weaver (John Pulliam) of Duluth, GA, Rev. Jonathan & Lisa Weaver of Myerstown, PA and Rev. Stephen & Kim Weaver of Rochester, NH; 2 stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Linda & Mark Kreutter of Owatonna, MN and Heidi & Steve Minio of Monroe, GA; 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 14 step grandchildren and 5 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebastian and Gladys Ratcliffe and a sister, Patricia Kane.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Maranatha Evangelical Free Church in Rice Lake, WI, Rev. Paul Green, Jonathan Weaver and Rev. Stephen Weaver officiating, with interment in the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery at Spooner, WI, where Military Rites will be accorded by the State of Wisconsin Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 - 11 AM Wednesday at the Church.
