HESSE, Mildred "Millie"
(July 18, 1922 - January 30, 2010)
Mildred “Millie” Hesse, age 87 of Birchwood, WI, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at her daughter’s home in Menomonie, WI.

Millie was born on July 18, 1922 in Illinois to Alfred and Alice (Perrott) Busching. She was married to Walter “Wally” Hesse on August 31, 1946 in LaGrange, IL. In 1959 they moved to Birchwood and owned and operated the Hesse’s Northern Retreat on Big Chetac Lake from 1959-1994. Millie was also the school secretary for the Birchwood School District from 1961-1984. She loved her grandchildren, golfing, bowling, ceramics and cooking. She will be remembered for her fish fry’s and chicken dinners.

Millie is survived by 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Pat & Foster Soper of Menomonie, WI and Janetta & Rod Levake of Cave Creek, AZ; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary & Jarrie Hesse of Goodyear, AZ; 6 grandchildren, a great-grandson; a brother, Al Busching of Rochelle, IL; a sister-in-law, Fritzi Kramer of St. Augustine, FL; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Wally” Hesse in 2005; and her parents, Alfred and Alice Busching.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Birchwood, Rev. Paul Oman officiating, with interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Birchwood. Friends may call from 10 - 11 AM Saturday at the Church.

Memorials appreciated to the Trinity Lutheran Church or the Birchwood Public School / Community Fund.
