TURNER, Gertrude Arntson
(April 28, 1921 - February 17, 2010)
Gertrude Arntson Turner, age 88, of Rice Lake, WI died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Our House Memory Care in Rice Lake.

The former Gertrude Arntson was born to Adolph and Elrena (Black) Arntson on April 28, 1921 in Rice Lake, WI. She attended the Public Schools in Rice Lake and graduated from RLHS in 1939. She was then employed as an operator for the Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company in Rice Lake. On July 11, 1942 Gertrude was married to John Turner in Pine City, MN. After World War II they moved to Pocatello, ID where she was employed as a Medical Secretary for over 20 years. They later resided in Portland, OR prior to moving back to Rice Lake. He preceded her in death in 1988.

Gertrude Turner is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Krista & Thomas Ballard of Rice Lake, WI; a son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Janet Turner of Pocatello, ID; 5 grandchildren, Dr. Geoffrey (Kathleen) Turner, Stephanie (John) Proper, Don Ballard, Cate (Jarred) Kopkey and Kelly (Dustin) Schellin; 6 great-grandchildren, Stephen, Jonathan, Michael, Grace, Aiden and Skyler; 2 sisters, Ann Lucas of Littleton, CO and Betty Arntson Howell of Pocatello, ID; and a brother, Wayne Arntson of Rice Lake, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Turner in 1988; a son, Lowell Turner; her parents, a sister and a brother.

Private graveside services will be held at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery at Spooner, WI. Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake. Visitation will be held 9 - 11 AM Saturday at the Church.
