KOHLER, Rose C. (February 22, 1916 - March 8, 2010) Rose C. Kohler, age 94, of Rice Lake, WI, died Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. Rose was born to Anthony and Alice (McCall) Weinandt on February 22, 1916. On October 20, 1943 she was married to John “B.J.” Kohler. Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister. She had a profound commitment to her faith and her family. More than anything, she enjoyed spending time with her children and their families. She was always helping others in need. In addition to raising her family, she was an active member of the St. Joseph Parish and the Rice Lake community. One great joy in her life was entertaining family and friends at holiday gatherings, dinner parties, picnics, and the annual Kohler family reunions. As the matriarch of the Kohler family, her strength, Love and character were our inspiration. Rose Kohler is survived by 5 daughters and sons-in-law, “Kappy” & Bob Boehmer and Mary Kohler of Rice Lake, WI, “Becky” & Mike Cowley of Barron, WI, “Peggy” Haugen, and Ann & Kenn Foss of Rice Lake, WI; 5 sons and daughters-in-law, John Kohler II of Rice Lake, WI, Don & Lolita Kohler of Cumberland, WI, Terry & Star Kohler of Sioux Falls, SD, Dan & Laurie Kohler of Mesa, AZ and Paul & Karen Kohler of Eau Claire, WI; 34 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mary Sachinski of Oshkosh, WI and Sr. Lauren Weinandt of Rochester, MN; and 2 sisters-in-law, Loretta and Kathryn Weinandt. She was preceded in death by her husband, John “B.J.” Kohler in 1970; a grandson, Don Miguel Kohler; parents, Anthony and Alice Weinandt; a sister, Margaret and 5 brothers, “Bud”, Clem, Bernie, “Jack” and Larry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM Thursday, March 11, 2010 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rice Lake, WI, Father James Powers officiating, with interment in the St. Joseph Cemetery in Rice Lake. Friends may call from 3 - 8 PM Wednesday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for 1 hour prior to the funeral at the Church.
