ROBOTKA, Joseph (April 6, 1924 - March 27, 2010) Joseph A. Robotka, age 85, of Birchwood, WI passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Heritage Manor in Rice Lake. He was born on April 6, 1924 in the Township of Wilson in Rusk County, WI to Joseph and Agnes (Evitch) Robotka. He came from a large family of 3 brothers and 3 sisters and Joe being the oldest. Joe was married to Marjorie Busse at St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood on October 20, 1951 and they have been married for over 58 years. He lived, worked and raised his family in Birchwood. Joe worked at Birchwood Lumber and Veneer from the age of 17 working his way up to superintendent until his retirement. He and his wife maintained the family bait and tackle shop started by his parents. He enjoyed many favorite pastimes from logging, fishing, trapping, hunting and berry picking and loved all outdoor activities. Joe was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood. Joseph Robotka is survived by his wife, Marjorie Robotka of Birchwood, WI; 7 children, Kathleen Gohde of Exeland, WI, Barbara & Michael Beyreis of Rice Lake, WI, Don & Iwa Robotka of Visalia, CA, Ron Robotka of Cameron, WI, William & Anita Robotka of Cameron, WI, Peggy & Tom Gassler of Edgewater, WI and John E. & Jess Robotka of Birchwood, WI; 13 grandchildren, Stacey Wilkins, Lori Toth, Steve & DeAnna Judd, Brian Wagner, Kaci Robotka, Josh Estes, Joe Robotka, Cory Laone, Ashley & Tony Esparza, Angelica Laone, Alicia Gassler, April Gassler and Justin Robotka; 10 great-grandchildren, Tyler & Jacob Toth, John, Keoni, Kyra & Reese Ann Judd, Xalen Bergstrom, Carter Kuruz, Jayce Eder and Emily Esparza; 2 brothers, Bud Robotka and Emil & Nancy Robotka all of Birchwood, WI; a sister, Jeanne & Charles Stodola of Rice Lake, WI; and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Agnes Robotka; a brother, Frank & Joyce Robotka; 2 sisters, Dorothy & Howard Milbrandt and Darlene & Leon Szleszinski; a sister-in-law, Donna Robotka and a son-in-law, Allan Gohde. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Birchwood, WI, Father David Oberts officiating, with interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Birchwood. Friends may call from 4 - 8 PM Monday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake and for 1 hour prior to the funeral at the Church. Pallbearers will be Greg Robotka, Robert Robotka, Jeff Robotka, Cory Laone, Justin Robotka, Michael Stodola, David Stodola and John B. Robotka.
