MYERS, Marvin "Butch" (June 26, 1942 - April 15, 2010) Marvin “Butch” Myers, age 67, of Rice Lake, WI, died Thursday, April 15, 2010 at the Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. Butch was born in Adeline, IL on June 26, 1942 to Harvey and Mary Myers. They moved to Rice Lake on June 1, 1956 where he graduated from the Rice Lake High School in 1960. He was married to Cheryl Bruha on January 28, 1961 in Rice Lake. Butch was a painter, drywaller until he suffered a stroke in 1991. Butch loved the outdoors, trapping, fishing, hunting, canoe racing and competed in the Superior to Rice Lake snowshoe race. As a teenager Butch guided a fishing trip for actor Anthony Quinn and his father to one of his favorite fishing spots. Butch was also known to blindfold people when he took them fishing as not to give away his secret spots (McGarvy Lake). Butch also loved to cook wild game feeds and enjoyed being with his friends and family. Butch Myers is survived by his wife, Cheryl Myers of Rice Lake, WI; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Randy & Linda, Robin & Wendy and Rusty (deceased fiancé, Shelley Pax) Myers all of Rice Lake, WI; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Ronda & Bob McDonald, Tracy & Jeff Lavaliere and Shelly & Roy Polichnia all of Rice Lake, WI; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Jack Myers of Chetek, WI, David Myers of Chetek, WI and Dan Myers of Mikana, WI; 6 sisters, Charlotte Myers of Rockford, IL, Barbara Swanson of Illinois, Gloria Lee of Chetek, WI, Donna Folstad of Rice Lake, WI, Christine Dulyea of Poplar, WI and Marilyn Erwin of Shell Lake, WI. He was preceded in death by a son, Travis Jay Myers; his parents, Harvey and Mary Myers; an infant brother, Ralph and a brother, Curtis. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Appleyard's Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, Rev. Virgil Amundson officiating, with interment in Nora Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 - 8 PM Monday and 10 - 11 AM Tuesday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals.
