OLSON, Sylvia E. (October 24, 1938 - June 20, 2010) Sylvia E. Olson, age 71, of Rice Lake, WI died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at her home. She was born to Norman and Myrtle (White) Thompson on October 24th, 1938 in Barron County. Sylvia was married to Kenneth M. Olson on May 29th, 1954 in Barron, WI. In addition to raising her family she worked at Wright Products for 17 years. Sylvia enjoyed her grandchildren and embroidering, sewing, quilting, making desserts, baking for others and flower gardening. Sylvia Olson is survived by a daughter, Joyce Olson (David Buchli) of Cameron, WI; 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard & Karen Olson of Rice Lake, WI and Loran Olson (Traci Tucker) of Rice Lake, WI; 7 grandchildren, Corrina, Holly, Lucas, Joel, Kristie, Jeremy and Larissa; 5 great-grandchildren; a sister, Grace Clift of Chetek, WI and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Olson; a stillborn son, Dean Olson in 1955; a son, Jeffrey Olson in 1978; parents, Norman and Myrtle Thompson; a sister, Judith and 2 brothers, Robert “Dale” and Louis. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, WI, Rev. Karen Johnson officiating, with interment in Nora Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 - 7 PM Wednesday at Appleyard's Home for Funerals and for 1 hour prior to the funeral at the Church.
