Family


Jon Tillung was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Bloomington, MN in 1986. 

Jon moved to RiceLake in August, 1986 and attended the University of Wisconsin – Barron County. Jon then started to work for Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in September, 1986. He married Krista on April 27, 1991. Together they moved to Chicago and Jon started mortuary school at Worsham’s College of Mortuary Science and graduated in September, 1992. Jon has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1992 and has owned and operated Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI since January, 2010.

 Jon works with Northern Granite Company in Barron, Wisconsin as a monument salesman.  Jon also works for an insurance company in Rice Lake, helping people set aside money for their own funerals.  By setting aside money for your funeral it protects your money from the State of Wisconsin and the county if you would ever go into a nursing home or assisted living. 

Jon has 2 children; a daughter, Kailey and a son, Evan. Jon is very family oriented and loves spending quality family time with them. Jon is a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, a member of the Rice Lake Elk’s Lodge, Rice Lake Moose Lodge and Kinship of Rice Lake. Jon is also a past board member of the Rice Lake Main Street Association and the Rice Lake Education Foundation of Rice Lake.

Boyd was born to Richard & Ila in Rice Lake, enjoys golfing and spending time with family. A 1975 graduate of RLHS, a 1987 graduate of WITC. He has been office manager since 1988 and co-owner since January 2010. Boyd was married in 1987 to Kim and are the proud parents of daughters, Ashley and Megan and hope to make Rice Lake their lifelong home.
