Jon Tillung was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1986. He moved to RiceLake in August, 1986 and attended the University of Wisconsin – Barron County. Jon then started to work for Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in September, 1986. He married Krista on April 27, 1991. Together they moved to Chicago and Jon started mortuary school at Worsham’s College of Mortuary Science and graduated in September, 1992. Jon has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1992 and has owned Appleyard’s Home for Funerals since January, 2010. Jon works with Northern Granite Company in Barron, Wisconsin as a monument salesman and also works for an insurance company in Rice Lake, helping people set aside money for their own funerals. 

Jon has 2 children; a daughter, Kailey and a son, Evan. Jon is very family oriented and loves spending quality family time with them. Jon is a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, a member of the Rice Lake Elk’s Lodge, Rice Lake Moose Lodge and Kinship of Rice Lake. Jon is also a past board member of the Rice Lake Main Street Association and the Rice Lake Education Foundation of Rice Lake.

Boyd was born to Richard and Ila Gilbertson and raised in Rice Lake and enjoys golfing and spending time with family. A 1975 graduate of Rice Lake High School, a 1987 graduate of WITC-Rice Lake, Boyd has periodically worked for Appleyard’s Home for Funerals since 1979. Boyd has been office manager since 1988 and co-owner of Appleyard’s Home for Funerals since January, 2010. Boyd was married in 1987 to Kimberly and are the proud parents of two daughters, Ashley Ila, born in 1996 and Megan Ann, born in 1999. Boyd, Kim and the girls hope to make Rice Lake their lifelong home.
