Jon Tillung was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Bloomington, MN in 1986.
Jon moved to Rice Lake in August, 1986 and attended the University of Wisconsin – Barron County. Jon then started to work for Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in September, 1986. He married Krista on April 27, 1991. Together they moved to Chicago and Jon started mortuary school at Worsham’s College of Mortuary Science and graduated in September, 1992. Jon has been a Licensed Funeral Director since 1992 and has owned and operated Appleyard’s Home for Funerals in Rice Lake, WI since January, 2010.
Jon works with Northern Granite Company in Barron, Wisconsin as a monument salesman and works for an insurance company in Rice Lake, helping people set aside money for their own funerals. By setting aside money for your funeral it protects your money from the State of Wisconsin and the county if you would ever go into a nursing home or assisted living.
Jon is a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church in Rice Lake, a member of the Rice Lake Elk’s Lodge, Rice Lake Moose Lodge and Kinship of Rice Lake. Jon is also a past board member of the Rice Lake Main Street Association and the Rice Lake Education Foundation of Rice Lake. He is dedicated to each and every family that he serves and treats them as his own. Serving his community is his number #1 goal and will be behind you in every step of your grieving process.

Boyd was born to Richard & Ila, enjoys golfing and time with his family. A graduate of RLHS and WITC and has co-owned since 2010. Boyd and Kim and are parents of Ashley and Megan. They hope to make Rice Lake their lifelong home.
